I hope you enjoy my collection of paintings and suggestions of wholesome healthy real foods you can and should feed your dog.
And
My loving self soothing Grief books

“The art of feeding your dog” is a beautifully illustrated, gift-able guide that helps dog owners navigate the confusing world of canine nutrition. It combines both science based information with my full color illustrations. This book clearly answers the everyday question: “Can my dog safely eat this?” Can my dog eat t

Organized for quick reference and easy browsing, each entry clearly explains which foods are safe and their value for your dog’s health. The illustrations help readers understand nutritional information, turning a practical guide into a book that is as much a pleasure to browse through as use as a reference guide.
I finally chose to live my life meaningfully and fully until it's my time to be rejoined with my precious son. If I can lift up other people it always lifts me up as well and proves to me that I am not in fact totally broken. My books give me a place to share my love for artistic expression and my passions a place to live.
"THE ART OF LIVING WITH GRIEF" & "AN ILLUSTRATED JOURNEY THROUGH GRIEF"

"It has taken me 13 years to get to this point but I have found that helping other grieving parents actually helps me also. It gives my grief and my art a purpose. This book is truly a labor of love in memory of my son, Ben. My hope is that my books bring comfort to all who read them. " -Claudia Chappel

Accept the comfort of your pet.
My dog saved me. He sensed my pain and never left my side.
I needed a physical being to cling to who I felt safe with and who wouldn't feel smothered by my neediness.
I had all this love with no one to express it to in my desperate state.
I think it's called transference, but it sure worked for me for a long time.
Animals are the best!
Thank god for them.
Gratitude
It's not the first word or emotion that comes to mind these days, I'm sure.
As you start to accept this horrendous reality, you start to realize what you have not lost.
We have a choice to make.
Do we live in deprivation or gratitude?
Gratitude for our other child or if you are really blessed, children, grandchildren, husband or wife
and the love all around us.

I FOUND OUT THAT PEOPLE WERE GIVING MY BOOK TO PEOPLE SUFFERING FROM OTHER LOSSES. I HAD TO WRITE A SEQUEL

"So begins my second collection of paintings and meditations on the process of grieving the loss of a loved one. This book is full of beautiful, full-color paintings that capture the feelings that one passes through while shoring up under intense pain."

Living life vibrantly
is possible
after the loss of a loved one,
in my case my son,
but do not let anyone rush you!
It takes a very long time
to build the strength needed to even get off the couch
but in time you can
choose life.

As another day begins,
we have to continue navigating through our journey
trudging towards the light.
Why?
Because we have no other choice
I believe that my son is now resting in the light and will be there when it’s my time to join him.
Until then I will continue to try to lift myself up and anyone else
who needs me.

Especially in grief
it’s important to
surround yourself with lightness.
Do what feeds your hurt soul
as much as you can.
For me, it’s working with color.
For you it might be music.
Whatever brings your mind
and heart peace
or joy
will bring you closer to your departed love because your loved one
is not in the darkness but in the
light.

-Claudia Chappel
All of the art found in my book was painted by me a few years before I knew I was even going to need it to illustrate my thoughts or feelings.

ALL OF MY BOOKS GIVE MY ART A PURPOSE & A PLACE TO SHARE MY INSIGHT INTO THE TOPICS I KNOW BEST.
*My hope is that you both enjoy and gain something beautiful*
